Gunmetal Magic - Ilona Andrews The book was great. I'm coming to the opinion that IA can't write something less. The reason it has 4 stars instead of 5 is because I liked Kate's books more and somehow it's got to show.

Andrea is a completely different person from Kate. Unlike other series it isn't like reading about the same person. Andrea even in her "crazy" side is much more patient and way calmer than Kate. If Kate couldn't find her keys she would probably break down the door, if Andrea can't find her keys she is more likely to make a list of places to look for them. Andrea is a great heroine,I didn't think she would be but she is great, with a scary past, sappy feeling for Rafael, a love for guns or anything that shoots things, she is loyal, courageous, determined. Andrea is how a real "detective" probably would be. She looks for clues, does slow bit by bit work, she doesn't start killing till she gets her answers.

I really don't know if I like Rafael all that much. He is acting like a child at times but he has a nice sense of humor and that rogue, playboy image that usually works for me in novels so no complaints there.

Roman is such a flirt. I love him, I look forward to a story on him! And of course we had glimpses in our beloved characters from the previous books that only left me asking for more.

Generally this book was good but not as full of action and excitement as Kate's. If you prefer mysteries with more detective work and less brawls and killing this is the book for you!
